Most departments/units have no extra time for training or to
incorporate any new mental or physical health resource into their hectic
schedules. The MBV Program was designed
to provide relief and effectiveness quickly without in-class training
requirements or a heavy financial or time burden for personnel. The program takes less than 45 minutes (but
must be done regularly) and is accessible anywhere personnel are deployed to in the world.
Having security forces who are in good health and who are demonstrating
disciplined mental mastery techniques isn’t only about their well-being, it is
a national security issue.
NOTE: The reason why Veterans are not exempted from paying for the MBV Program is - it has been proven that people who have to invest in their own learning, including healing and recovery work, get better results than those who have not invested anything. The point of the program is to get those results and to change the lives of those service members for the better.

The Secret Weapon: Your Mind.
Learn to create alignment between conscious and subconscious
minds to increase health and optimize performance. Leverage the true power within you. Mind
blowing once you get the concepts. For
example, you can’t expect a mirror to smile for you or your external world to
change without you doing the work. You don’t push your fingers on the glass
trying to make the mirror smile. You
smile and that is reflected back to you.

MBV Program - Digital and
discrete. Tested. Proven.
MBV techniques (Meditation, Breathing Techniques and
Visualization) are the three most recommended stress reduction strategies cited
in both the military and by civilian experts.
These are recommended in the military field manuals on Combat
Stress. However, a specific training
program to teach those techniques was not being made available to personnel
until the creation of the MBV Program created by MHC.
The MBV Program blends instruction in mindfulness concepts
with guided exercises in a self-paced, easy to integrate program that builds
skills to promote stress resilience and eradicate symptoms associated with
CS/OSI/ PTSD and CPTSD. The overall
result is an ‘inner armour’ that increases operational effectiveness and
decreases recovery times. By training
individual personnel in skill development, sustained organizational level
change is achieved.
The MBV Program was created based on a need where
operational tempo restricted the availability of personnel to physically attend
in-class training or because personnel wanted a discrete, DIY program they can
use for themselves, by themselves.

Statistics
Stats from the MBV Program Field Study
If 84% of your workforce saw a significant improvement in
operational effectiveness in less than 4 weeks, how would that change your
workplace?
In 2011 a field study was conducted by MHC to test the MBV
Program with a sample of 112 police officers across the United States and
Canada.
The majority of personnel had 10-15 years (23%) of service,
followed by ten years or less (29%), more than ten years (47%). 39% of all
officers had prior military service, most having served for 3-5 years. 72.2% of
all officers were front line patrol, 27.8% members of SWAT or other Rapid
Response Teams, 25% sex crimes; property crimes 23.1%, missing persons 22.2%,
narcotics 19.4%; sex crimes against children 19.4%
(That's not meant to equal 100% because many officers worked
multiple divisions, but it gives you a good idea that all of these officers
have been on the "going end of the business".)
The methodology of the study included entrance and exit
surveys and personal logs of officers where they documented and reported weekly
on any differences they noted the MBV Program had on their performance, health,
relationships etc. They were asked to
not change a thing in their regular private and working lives, just to add in
the MBV Program and note changes.
At the end of study 84% of officers stated that operational
effectiveness had improved based on new sleep levels and 84% saw improved
effectiveness based on lower stress levels.
91.7% stated that the MBV Program was responsible for improvement in
effectiveness. 92% stated that they felt improvement would likely continue with
continued use of the MBV Program.
The MBV Program had to meet or exceed a success criteria;
• significantly reduces negative
symptoms across physical, mental, emotional domains,
• works quickly,
• discrete,
• self contained with no other
instruction necessary,
• cost effective,
• easy to learn,
• takes less than an hour,
• easily integrates and compliments
what personnel are already doing.
These results were obtained through minimal use, listening to the program ONCE a week for 4 weeks.

For maximum benefit the exercises contained in the MBV
Program should be done as part of a DAILY routine. Imagine the results you could get then?
Fatigue Management
Across the security platform from law enforcement to aviation and beyond, there is a growing concern regarding and demand for a results-based Fatigue Management program for personnel. The MBV Program is a solid resource to implement across your department, unit, or organization to comply with sector expectations and legislation regarding Fatigue Management and Risk Mitigation.
Within four weeks, personnel who participated in the MBV Program Stress Study saw significant improvement in sleep issues;
84% increase in sleep quality
68% increase in length of sleep
72% decrease in number of times waking up
92% easier to get to sleep
84% sleep is more restful
76% energy levels have improved
Integration of MBV in your organization
Basic Philosophy - All personnel must have dial down
strategies prior to high stress events and have integrated these strategies
into their performance-oriented routines as they would physical development
strategies such as weight training. Resiliency-oriented strategies are performance enhancers and must be
treated as seriously as physical fitness.
To host a training connect to discuss your budget, number of
personnel and training needs.
Training
Strategies include main concepts, connections to existing learning and
vocabulary/key terms deployed through a four-step lesson design;
• Direct Instruction
• Guided Discovery/Rehearsal
• Discussion and Correction
• Evaluation
Evaluation
Methods;
• Students are evaluated on their
participation in instructor led scenarios, in class discussion and activities
as well as their ability to achieve a 90% score on an exam.
Instructor
Needs; facilities to include;
• white board/black board
• power point projector/screen/audio
system
• seating with tables/chairs for full
cohort
• open area adjacent to teaching room
for group activities
• first aid kit/supplies onsite
• copy of emergency plan for
facilities
• drinking water onsite

MBV Integration
Training is a brief overview of the MBV Program, its basic concepts of meditation,
breathing techniques and visualizations processes. MBV is based on well documented visualization
protocols that have to be taken seriously and implemented with discipline and commitment
in order to see results.
Establishing this culture of discipline within an organization often requires additional training and instruction. This is the intent of MBV Integration Training.
This can be conducted in one hour, half day and one day sessions.
MBV will, depending on time constraints, work in some elements of the MHC original in-class training program, Tactical Trauma Self Care Training.

ADDITIONAL
TRAINING
In order to
host a TTSCT course, Tactical Trauma Self Care Training, the first four modules
can be covered in one day but it is more comfortable and allows for more
questions and interactions to allow for at least two days.
Section One
– Physical. Illness within the body
creates its own anxiety loops that can present as PTSD-like symptoms. Most disease is preventable and with simple
strategies, personnel can regain their health and eliminate these symptoms.
Simple and essential hacks to resolve the most pressing of PTSD symptoms such
as brain fog, body pain, tension. We
also talk about other physical issues such as environment, finances,
relationships and how staying on top of these is necessary as a countermeasure
against high stress. If you stay ready,
you don’t have to get ready.
Section Two
– Mindfulness training is imperative as skill development to decrease the
effects of negative self talk, intrusive thoughts and regain a positive sense
of self. This is critical as the core
symptom of PTSD are intrusive thoughts.
Mental anxiety loops must be broken and positive momentum created. Here we learn about the Mental Mastery
Protocol and how to use it as a deliberate daily practice. This is life altering.
Section
Three –Combat Stress Spectrum, Anger, Addictions, Betrayal by Leadership, Death
and Loss. These issues are the most
consistent across all conflicts historically and do the most damage to
personnel morale, emotional and mental well-being. Learn strategies to defuse,
redirect, make better health choices, use schematics to dial down, understand
and implement behavioural change. Lots
in here.
Section Four
– Operational stress is the result of operational realities such as tempo as
well as mistakes. We discuss leadership
strategies, joint operation realities and how to create more successful
operations. Mitigate operational level
stressors. Break systemic,
organizational level anxiety causing loops.
This is a group exercise and everyone leaves with at least one strategy
to implement when they go back to work.

Additional Options
TIA (One
additional day)
Have you
ever been sent to the principal’s office?
Did you know the ‘right thing’ to say to get yourself out of the
office? Many psychology inventories are
similar, in that once you know the right thing to say so that you won’t lose
that promotion, mission, draw attention to yourself in the wrong way - you keep
saying that. Which means inventories and
apps may not be effective in gauging where you really are, and in creating
meaningful strategies to get you to your next way point. With TIA, you can’t fudge the answers.
As
intimidating as this may sound, it is in your best interest to get a solid core
reading of where you are and where you want to be. And to do it in a creative and interesting
way. TIA – Transparent Intuitive
Assessment.
The Grand
Transition (One additional day) - Transitioning. This is one of the most challenging aspects
of operational stress; Transitioning between phases of trauma recovery, between
the "fight" and "home", within operations and exiting the
service where personnel need to have strategies to make transitions
successfully.
The Grand
Transition is loosely based on Native American Indian ceremonies known as
clearing ceremonies where when men would come home from battle, medicine people
would meet them and have them complete ceremonies to “take off” what they had
to put on to go to war and be successful. Those things from the “fight” had to be taken
back off to integrate into society without the Warriors hurting themselves or
others. The Grand Transition asks
participants to walk through three sectioned places on the floor; from “Home”
to “the Dressing Room” to the “Fight” and back through, articulating what each
Warrior needs to put on or take off at each stage of that transition. Powerful.
Warrior
Initiation Ceremonies (Two evenings, plus 1 ½ days)
What does it
mean to be a Warrior in the 21st Century?
Are we still living by old archetypes that need to be updated? Today’s Warriors will spend time talking
about this essential idea and ideal and what it means to them, and how best to
initiate men into more appropriate concepts of what is needed now and is going
to be needed; what will it mean to be a warrior moving forward into the
future? Student findings, suggestions,
revelations and mock up ceremonies will be presented to the group on the last
day.
To include
all modules;
Day One –
Introduction, First Two Stress Reduction Techniques (most effective, easy to
learn and both student favourites – these are a must so covered first in the
course) Then TIA for the rest of the day with discussion. Group dinner.
Day Two –
Section One and Two with homework to practice over the evening of the Mental
Mastery Protocol so questions can be answered the following day and tweaks to
student practice can be made. These simple but powerful mental mastery hacks
are essential to create peace, health, and improve mission success. Discussion of Warrior Initiations with group
work to begin that evening leading to a presentation on the last day of the
course.
Day Three –
The Grand Transition. Normally this
takes most of the day and can be used as a segue into Section Three. Continued evening work in Warrior Initiation
groups and discussion on what does it mean to be a Warrior?
Day Four –
Section Three with discussion on death, loss, anger and addictions. This can be a far-reaching discussion with
lots of opportunities for group talk, and utilizing techniques learned so far.
Part of the afternoon is given to groups to further develop and rehearse
presentations regarding Warrior Initiation.
Day Five –
Operational Stress working groups where students discuss what pisses them off,
what strategies they’d like to see implemented and what steps they want to
bring forward to their teams and commands when they return to work. This section is about taking the theoretical
into the practical. Review of what
personal practices students will be implementing into their own lives. Afternoon/evening the presentations of the
Warrior groups. Exams and course
evaluation. Group dinner.
NOTE: These training outlines are just that, outlines. Take these as guidelines but not absolutes. Each MHC course is run with the intention of providing the most timely and relevant presentation to the cohort present. If that means going off script and taking the time to work through specific concerns that participants have, that's what will happen. No MHC course is a cookie-cutter training.
When you or your organization's POC engage MHC to create a training experience, you are doing just that - creating the best fit training experience possible given your budget, time frame and needs of your teams. Know what your needs are, then work with MHC to build a life-altering course.
